Interior Finishes

Arthouse Renovations take pride in creating outstanding interior finishes for your home and commercial workspaces. So what are interior finishes?

Plaster Finishes

With a variety of natural and synthetic materials, interior finishes and space-division systems characterise the living areas in residential buildings. Gypsum board, a prefabricated variation of conventional wet plaster, is the most used wall finish. Large panels are created by casting wet gypsum plaster between paper facings and nailing them to light wooden or metal frames.

Wood Finishes

A hard-setting resin compound is used to fill the gaps between the panels, creating a smooth, seamless surface with high fire resistance. A variety of additional materials, such as thin wood-veneered plywood and vinyl textiles, can be adhered with adhesives to the gypsum board, which serves as the substrate. Water-resistant gypsum board is used in wet places like kitchens and bathrooms, occasionally with the addition of ceramic tile that has been mounted with adhesive.

Door & Cabinet Finishes

Homes frequently have hollow-core doors with solid wood edge strips and thin wood veneers bonded over a honeycomb paper core. Door frames are typically built of machined wooden shapes. For built-in cabinets and counters, plastic laminates that are glued to particleboard are frequently employed.

Floor Finishes

The most popular type of flooring is carpet, which is now primarily constructed of synthetic fibres rather than the more traditional wool and cotton. It is appealing for household use because it is simple to maintain, has a soft visual and tactile texture, and absorbs sound. Both the conventional narrow planks nailed to plywood decks and the prefabricated parquet pieces, which are attached with adhesives, are made of hardwoods, notably oak, birch, and maple. Ceramic or vinyl-composition tiles are employed in damp or high-use locations.
